During my master's program I had an inquiry class. 

My question:

What is the lived experience of athletes who lost their identity after sport and how did they reimagine and reclaim their life beyond a jersey?

I interviewed former collegiate athletes, and I noticed a pattern:

A silent struggle. 

Without sports, they did not know who they were.

If they were not playing, what would others think of them?

Feelings of

Grief. Disappointment. Confusion. Pain.

After one of my first interviews, the participant thanked me.  She felt safe. 

The day after I received the message, the podcast was born.
